Every ability, with the real numbers
By the Vampire Feast team at Orivexsystems · Updated
Every Vampire Feast ability scales the same way: damage = a flat base + a percentage of your mass. That is why a late-tier power is not merely bigger, it grows with you. The table below lists the real values straight from the game's balance file — cooldown, range and both damage terms — followed by what each one is actually for.

The numbers
| Tier | Ability | Cooldown | Base dmg | + % of mass | Reach |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 🦷 Latch | 0.85s | 3 | 11% | 34px |
| 2 | 🦇 Dive | 2.2s | 5 | 14% | lunge |
| 3 | 🗡️ Rend | 1.4s | 6 | 15% | 88px |
| 4 | 🩸 Blood Spit | 1.1s | 9 | 10% | 700px/s projectile |
| 5 | 📢 Screech | 2.6s | 11 | 8% | 290px |
| 6 | 👁️ Mesmerize | 3.2s | 13 | 11% | 300px |
| 7 | 🌑 Shadow Blink | 4s | 12 | 12% | 95px |
| 8 | 🦇 Bat Swarm | 5s | 8 | 8% | 400px/s projectile |
| 9 | 💥 Crimson Nova | 6s | 16 | 10% | 290px |
| 10 | ☄️ Crimson Cataclysm | 7.5s | 40 | 14% | 360px |
Read the last two columns together. The Blood Mite's Latch does 3 + 11% of your mass — trivial at 20 mass, meaningful at 200. The Dread Progenitor's Cataclysm does 40 + 14%, which at 2,100 mass is over 334 damage a cast.
Shadow Pounce — the one ability every tier has
Press Space at any size. It is a committed ~290px lunge with a few frames of invulnerability, and it does three different things depending on what you hit:
- Overlap something smaller and you devour it outright.
- Hit something bigger and you latch on instead — a heavy bite that slows them and drains.
- Land it from behind and it hits for 1.8x. The bite shrinks them while the lifesteal grows you, which is how a smaller player flips a fight they should lose.
The i-frames make it an escape as much as an attack. Pouncing through an attacker beats running from one, because size is speed in reverse.
What each ability is for
Raw power ascends the whole ladder, but no two abilities do the same job:
- Sustain (tier 1) — Latch heals 0.5 beyond normal lifesteal, so a Blood Mite out-drinks chip damage.
- Mobility (tier 2) — the Dive's 470 impulse closes a gap or breaks a chase.
- Bleed (tier 3) — Rend leaves a 3s damage-over-time. Hit once, disengage, let it finish.
- Debuff (tier 4) — Blood Spit makes the target hit 25% softer for 3.5s.
- Crowd control (tier 5) — Screech slows everything in 290px by 45% for 3s.
- Control + drain (tier 6) — Mesmerize roots for 0.6s in a cone and drinks deep. Short by design: it sets up a kill, it does not stun-lock one.
- Assassination (tier 7) — Shadow Blink teleports 300px with 0.8s of invulnerability, and hits for 1.7x from behind.
- Zone control (tier 8) — Bat Swarm sends 6 hunters that live 4.5s. Throw it where prey must go.
- Disengage (tier 9) — Crimson Nova detonates in 290px with 440 knockback. Cast it surrounded, not chasing.
- Apex (tier 10) — Crimson Cataclysm: 360px, 520 knockback, and it feeds you 20% of the carnage.
Cooldowns are not fixed
Two things change them. The Witching Hour omen runs every cooldown at double speed for a night. And the Crimson King casts at 0.55x — nearly twice as fast as anyone else — which is a large part of why the crown is so dangerous.

Frequently asked questions
How is damage calculated in Vampire Feast?
Every ability does a flat base amount plus a percentage of the caster's mass. A Crimson Cataclysm, for example, does 40 damage plus 14% of your mass, so it grows as you do.
What is the strongest ability in Vampire Feast?
Crimson Cataclysm, the tenth-tier Dread Progenitor ability: a 360-radius detonation with 520 knockback that also heals the caster for a fifth of the damage it deals.
How does the backstab work in Vampire Feast?
Landing a Shadow Pounce on a target from behind deals 1.8x damage. The Nightstalker's Shadow Blink has its own backstab multiplier of 1.7x on the same principle.
