Vampire Feast glossary

Vampire Feast uses its own vocabulary for things other .io games call something plainer — mass is your size and score, essence is the food, a coven is your party. Here is every term the game will throw at you, in the order you will meet them.

The basics

Mass
Your size, your score and your health all at once. Everything you eat adds mass; everything that bites you takes it. Bigger hits harder and survives more — and moves slower, which is the trade the whole game turns on.
Essence
The drifting motes scattered across the map. The safe, slow way to grow, and how every run starts.
Evolution / form
One of the ten vampire shapes. Crossing a mass threshold promotes you and replaces your signature power entirely.
Shadow Pounce
The lunge on Space. Devours smaller prey, latches onto bigger prey, and hits for 1.8x from behind. See abilities.
Frenzy
A short burst of increased power. Killing a player grants six seconds of it.

The world

The Cathedral
The Holy Order's stronghold, full of rich blood and the knights guarding it. Farming it repeatedly tapers your payout to a fifth — it is bait, not an income.
The Pact
The vampires' citadel in the south. The other pole of the Eternal War.
The Eternal War
The ongoing AI conflict between the Pact and the Order. Its front line moves with the fighting, and it can actually be won — see the Chronicle.
Day / night cycle
Night is yours: thick essence, unguarded mortals. Day belongs to the Cathedral.
Omen
A modifier rolled at nightfall (about 55% of nights). THE STARLESS DARK — the night hides all names; RED RAIN — essence falls from the sky; THE WITCHING HOUR — all cooldowns run twice as fast; HUNTER'S MOON — the Order rides — bounties doubled.
The Chronicle of Ages
The server's history. Each decisive outcome of the Eternal War — a broken siege, a razed Cathedral — is written into it. Visible on the leaderboard.

Players and packs

Coven
Your party. Enter the same party code on the menu and you land in one arena together; covenmates can feed each other mass by holding E and ping the map.
Bounty
The price on your head. Every player kill adds 70 mass to it, up to 1,600. Whoever kills you collects.
The Most Wanted
The server's biggest bounty. Your name is broadcast to everyone, and bots will break off what they are doing to hunt you.
Bot
An AI player. They fill arenas at quiet hours and are built to behave like people — reaction delay, aim error, real mistakes — and they hunt players rather than farm.

The endgame

Blood Rush
The 30-second trial that decides the crown, triggered when anyone reaches 2,150 mass. Whoever gains the most mass wins — not whoever is biggest.
Crimson King
The crowned player. 1.8x damage, half damage taken, and the entire server against them. Full detail in the Crimson King guide.
Holy Wrath
The meter that fills while a King reigns. When it tops out, the Archangel descends.
Archangel
Heaven's champion — a player-controlled holy boss at near mass-parity with the King. About 87% of reigns end on one.
Dracul
The dragon form above the crown, earned by holding the throne 150s or reaching 16,000 mass. Trades the King's whole kit for a held dragonflame and a tough hide.
Grand Inquisitor
The Cathedral's last answer when its front line breaks. 1,500 mass of it.
Named Hunter
A roaming holy elite that appears every 260s, carrying a 110-mass bounty.
